Men's Soccer Draws With Roger Williams

MILTON, Mass. - A Curry College men's soccer game against Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Roger Williams ended in a 1-1 draw Saturday morning at Walter M. Katz Field.

Curry opened up scoring with a goal from senior Giovanni Martins (Brockton, Mass.) who found the back of the net for the second time this year. He was assisted by his classmate Adam Pforr (Weymouth, Mass.) to give the Colonels a 1-0 lead just 9:06 into the contest.

Roger Williams tied the game seven minutes later when Liam Blaisdell scored off a pass from Dylan Thomas to give the game its final score of 1-1.

Brendan Cunningham (Middletown, N.Y.) played the entire game in net for the Colonels, making five saves in the draw. Curry also took six corners compared to four for the visitors.

Curry College (3-1-3) returns to action on Monday (9/25) for a non-conference home game against Lesley. Kick-off is slated for 4 p.m.
