Men's Soccer Plays Western New England to Scoreless Draw

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Curry College men's soccer team played Western New England University to a 0-0 draw in Commonwealth Coast Conference action Saturday afternoon at Suprenant Field.

With the draw, Curry moves to 2-1-2 overall on the season.

The Colonel defense held strong in the first half, maintaining the clean sheet despite being outshot 13-2. Curry sophomore netminder Brendan Cunningham (Middletown, N.Y.) stopped all three shots he faced in the opening 45.

The second half was tighter than the first, with the Golden Bears narrowly outshooting Curry 9-7. None of Curry's seven shots landed on target, but all four shots that Western New England put on cage were denied by Cunningham, who finished with seven saves.

Next up for the Colonels, they will return home for a Tuesday night matchup against Fitchburg State University. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
