Men's Soccer Quieted by Endicott

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College men's soccer team fell 3-0 to Endicott College in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at Walter M. Katz Field Wednesday evening.

With the defeat, Curry falls to 6-4-4 overall on the season and 1-3-3 in the CCC.

Neither team found the back of the net in the first half. Endicott outshot the Colonels by a margin of 6-3 in the period, but Curry freshman goalkeeper Justin Ritz (Carver, Mass.) stopped all three shots the Gulls landed on cage. Ritz finished the evening with five total saves.

Just three minutes into the second half, Endicott got on the board first on a Curry own goal. A miscommunication at the back led to a pass to the goalkeeper finding its way across the goal line for a 1-0 Endicott advantage.

Minutes later, Curry had a golden chance to equalize, but a penalty kick from Ryan Brady (Weymouth, Mass.) sailed over the crossbar, keeping Endicott ahead by a goal.

In the 59th minute, Endicott stretched its lead to two on an unassisted goal by Sonny Mazza. The Gulls sealed the deal on a goal with one second remaining, giving the game its final score of 3-0.

Next up for Curry, they will host Salve Regina on Saturday for Senior Day at Katz Field. Kick-off is slated for 2 p.m., with a Senior Day ceremony scheduled for halftime.
