Harris-Wolfe Equalizes in Final Minute as Men's Soccer Opens Homecoming Weekend with Draw

MILTON, Mass. - Sophomore Isaiah Harris-Wolfe (Dorchester, Mass.) sent the Walter M. Katz Field crowd into a frenzy on Friday night, heading home the game-tying goal off a JD Santiago (La Plata, Md.) corner kick with 19 seconds remaining to help the Curry College men's soccer team secure a 1-1 draw with Suffolk University in Commonwealth Coast Conference action.

The draw is Curry's third in a row, and sees the Colonels move to 6-3-4 overall on the season and 1-2-3 in the CCC.

Neither team found the back of the net in the game's opening 45 minutes. Suffolk outshot Curry 7-4 in the half, but Colonel freshman goalkeeper Justin Ritz (Carver, Mass.) was up to the task, stopping all five shots on net.

Suffolk broke the ice in the 76th minute when Mathew Belluardo jumped on a rebound off a goal-mouth scramble to put the visitors ahead 1-0. Freshman Carter Van Buskirk was credited with an assist on the goal.

The Colonels pressed right up until the final minute, and capitalized on what proved to be their final chance of the night. Harris-Wolfe was subbed in as a third Curry forward just a minute after Belluardo's go-ahead tally, and the switch paid off as the 6-foot-5 Harris-Wolfe rose above all the Ram defenders to head Santiago's corner off the far post and into the net.

Ritz was stellar between the pipes for Curry, keeping the Colonels in the game throughout. The rookie earned the draw with 11 saves on 12 shots faced.

Next up for the Colonels, they will face Endicott College at Walter M. Katz Field on Wednesday afternoon. Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m.
