Men's Soccer Draws with Nichols

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College men's soccer team played Nichols College to a 1-1 draw Saturday evening in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at Walter M. Katz Field.

With the draw, Curry moves 6-3-2 overall on the season and 1-2-1 in CCC play.

The only goal of the first half came off the boot of Nichols' Brady Stevenson in the 23rd minute, which nearly held up as the game's only goal.

In the 79th minute however, freshman Aidan Auclair (Newton, Mass.) chose a perfect time to score his first collegiate goal. Off a goal-mouth scramble, senior Ryan Brady (Weymouth, Mass.) fed Auclair who put a shot past Derek Axon to level the score at 1-1.

Curry had a handful of chances to take the lead in the waning minutes, but couldn't find the back of the net as the game ended in a tie.

Playing in his first collegiate game, freshman netminder Justin Ritz (Carver, Mass.) turned aside six Bison shots to earn the draw.

Next up for the Colonels, they will continue CCC play with a road trip to Roger Williams University on Tuesday night. Kick-off from Rhode Island is slated for 7 p.m.
