AUBURNDALE, Mass. - The Curry College men's soccer team knocked off Lasell University 6-2 Sunday afternoon in non-conference action at Taylor Field.

With the win, Curry remains unbeaten on the season with a record of 3-0-1.

The story of the day once again for the Colonels was sophomore Lucas Drons (Bellingham, Mass.), who needed just 14:17 to score his second hat trick in as many games. The reigning Commonwealth Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week opened the scoring on a penalty kick in the seventh minute, and scored again just 32 seconds later to put his team ahead by a pair. An unassisted tally in the 15th minute gave Drons the natural hat trick.

The hat trick for Drons gives him 10 goals already on the season in just four games. No other player in the CCC has more than three goals so far early this season.

In the 23th minute, junior Adam Pforr (Weymouth, Mass.), who assisted on Drons' second goal, got on the board with a tally of his own to extend Curry's advantage to 4-0.

Just under 10 and a half minutes into the second half, Curry scored again to go up by five on a strike from freshman Matt Angelini (Foxboro, Mass.), on an assist from classmate Sean Butler (East Montpelier, Vt.). After Lasell scored in the 82nd and 83rd minutes to cut the deficit to 5-2, Butler potted his first collegiate goal in the 87th minute to put the contest on ice.

Curry senior netminder Kyle Tremblay (Methuen, Mass.) earned the victory between the pipes, making six saves.

Next up for the Colonels, they will return home on Saturday for a 2 p.m. kickoff to open CCC play against Western New England University.
