CCC Releases Fall Sports Pre-Season Polls

MILTON, Mass. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has released its pre-season coaches' polls for all fall sports.

The Curry College Women's Tennis team was chosen fifth.  Curry (7-7 overall, 4-4 CCC) will once again count on two strong juniors to lead the team for the 2012 season. Megan Mulrooney was selected to the All-CCC First Team for her singles play along with being a first team All-CCC selection for her doubles play with partner Emily Mongello. Mongello was selected to the All-CCC second team for her singles play. The Colonels look to improve upon their .500 record of last season.

The Curry College Men's Soccer team was chosen ninth.  The Curry Colonels (9-9-2, 2-5-2) will look to improve from last year as they return their top point leaders from 2011. Senior Devin Sadlers led the team with 16 points that included three goals and ten assists, while senior Nick Lawless accumulated 13 points with six goals and one assist. Senior Eric Guglielmello scored four goals and added two assists for 10 points and sophomore Nick Gilman had two goals and four assists for eight points last season. In addition Curry returns senior captains Adam Gabbard and Brandon Martins to anchor the backline.

The Curry College Women's Soccer team was chosen ninth.  Curry (4-14-0, 1-8-0) returns several key players in 2012, including senior goalkeeper and co-captain Sam Hardy who was an All-CCC honorable mention selection in 2011. Hardy ranked first in saves last season with 178. Senior leadership will also be provided from co-captain Brooke Moore who will return to the Colonels defense. Junior forward Brittney McLaughlin will look to lead the offense as she did last year with seven goals and three assists.

The Curry College Women's Volleyball team was chosen ninth.  The Curry Colonels (4-19 overall, 0-8 CCC) will be entering 2012 as a third year varsity program and their second season playing a full conference schedule. The team looks forward to improving their competitive ability and will rely on eight returners. Sophomore outside hitter and 2011 All-CCC Honorable Mention Courtney DiBiasio is expected to anchor the team. Senior Kendra LeMay will hold a leadership presence as middle hitter, along with sophomore outside hitters Tiana Sturtze and Christina Wallis. Sophomore setters Hannah Robison and Michelle Theroux will be running the Colonels offense, while the defense will remain solid with juniors Lauren Schneider and 2011 Defensive Player of the Week Tyla Miller.
