TCCC Men's Soccer Championship Pairings Announced

MILTON, Mass. - Western New England College has claimed the top seed for The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) men’s soccer championship, which begins with quarterfinal matchups on campus sites Saturday.

The Golden Bears (13-5-2 overall) earned the top seed in the conference tournament after compiling a league-best 10-2-1 record in TCCC play.  Western New England will host #8 seed University of New England (10-7, 7-6) in a quarterfinal contest Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Other quarterfinal matchups slated for Saturday include #2 seed Roger Williams University (13-5-1,9-3-1) hosting #7 seed Curry College (9-8-1,7-6) at 11:00 a.m.  In addition, #3 seed Wentworth Institute of Technology (10-7, 9-4) will host #6 seed Nichols College (12-6, 8-5) at 1:00 p.m., while #4 seed Salve Regina University (11-6-1, 8-4-1) will host #5 seed Gordon College (9-9, 8-5) at 1:00 p.m.

Two ties in the conference standings were resolved using TCCC tiebreaker rules.  By virtue of victories in the teams’ regular-season macthups, Gordon earned the #5 seed over Nichols, while Curry earned the #7 seed over University of New England.

Quarterfinal winners will advance to the semifinal round which will be played on Tuesday, November 3 at the sites of the higher seed.  Matches are tentatively scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

Semifinal winners will square off for the conference championship on Saturday, November 7 at 1:00 p.m. at the site of the higher seed.
