The Curry College Department of Athletics announced in November 2022 that John Carroll had been named the next head coach of the men’s lacrosse program.

“I am extremely excited to announce John Carroll as our next men’s lacrosse coach,” said Curry Director of Athletics Vinnie Eruzione when Carroll was hired. “John's enthusiasm and commitment to the game of lacrosse is outstanding. He is a student of the game who is a relentless recruiter. His past collegiate experiences made him a great choice to lead our program. His knowledge of the Commonwealth Coast Conference and Curry lacrosse should be beneficial to the entire program moving forward.”

Carroll came to Curry after spending the previous three and a half years as head coach at Commonwealth Coast Conference foe Nichols College.

Prior to Nichols, Carroll spent four years coaching at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. He began as an assistant coach in the fall of 2015, before he was promoted to defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator in 2017.

Other previous coaching roles for Carroll include assistant positions at Sacred Heart University and the College of the Holy Cross.

"I would like to thank Athletic Director Eruzione and the search committee for choosing me to be the next head men's lacrosse coach at Curry College,” said Carroll. “I'm very excited to get started and hit the field with the team. I'd like to thank my parents, siblings, and my fiancee Aly for believing in me throughout my coaching career."

John earned his bachelor’s degree from SUNY Albany in 2012 and a master’s degree from Trinity to 2017.
