Men's Lacrosse Falls at Dean

Franklin, MA - The Curry Men's Lacrosse team fell to the Dean Bulldogs on Wednesday by a final score of 16-9. The loss drops the Colonels to 1-5 on the season, while the Bulldogs are now 2-1.

In a high scoring game, the Colonels struck first, scoring twice in the first 70 seconds. First it was Brody Dalzell just 36 seconds in assisted by Mac Kline. Kline then scored just 34 seconds later on an assist from Dom Cerone to put the Colonels up 2-0. But the Bulldogs scored two straight to tie things up before the end of the period.

Dean would keep the momentum in the second scoring the first three goals of the quarter. But Curry would get closer with two straight unassisted goals from Pat Modoono and Cerone, making it 5-4. The Bulldogs got one back with less than a minute remaining in the half to go up 6-4 at the break.

The third quarter was where the Colonels made a move, scoring three straight goals to end the quarter. They also began the quarter with another Kline goal, and then after a pair of Dean goals, Kline struck again. Cerone and Anthony Lewis then closed the quarter with goals to send the game tied at eight into the fourth. But the Bulldogs dominated the fourth, outscoring the Colonels 8-1, with the lone Curry goal being scored by Duke Doherty.

Liam O'Neill made nine saves in the loss, while Sean Young led the team with three caused turnovers. Young also had four ground balls, only trailing Kline's five.

Up Next - The Colonels will travel to Mass. Maritime for a game on Saturday at 6pm.
