Men’s Lacrosse Wounded by Warriors

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College was defeated by Eastern Connecticut University 11-8 in non-conference collegiate men's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon at Walter M. Katz Field.

With the loss, Curry falls to an overall record of 1-3. The Colonels play another six non-conference games before facing off against their first CCC opponent in Roger Williams on Saturday, March 27th.

It only took Brody Dalzell (Wrentham, Mass.) one quarter to earn a hat trick, as the junior scored three times in the first quarter. Senior Dom Cerone (Hanover, Mass.) assisted Dalzell on two of his three goals to set the score at 3-3 heading into the second.

Cerone scored the lone Curry goal in the second quarter after receiving a pass from his classmate Albie DiBella (Norwell, Mass.), but the Colonels ultimately were left trailing 6-4 at halftime.

Senior Stephen Stackhouse (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) scored twice in the third quarter, while Alex Ripa (Middletown, R.I.) added a third goal in the period. Cerone assisted on all three scoring plays to pick up his third, fourth, and fifth assists and tie the game at 7-7 heading into the final quarter.

Dalzell scored a fourth goal in the final quarter of play to cap out scoring in the contest. Senior Anthony Lewis (Middletown, R.I.) picked up the assist on the play.

Curry College returns to action on Saturday, March 2nd, to take on Plymouth State in a road game beginning at 12 p.m.
