Colonels Defeated by Gulls

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College Men's Lacrosse fell to Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Endicott College 13-8 on Katz Field Tuesday afternoon.

With the loss, Curry moves forward with an overall record of 4-10 and 1-6 in the CCC.

The visiting Gulls notched the opening goal on Katz Field Tuesday afternoon, grabbing a quick 1-0 lead.

Curry's Nick Perfetuo (Norwell, Mass.) tied the contest at 1-1 four minutes later on a shot assisted by Stephen Stackhouse (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.). Just 40 seconds later, the Colonels would grab the lead. An unassisted goal from Connor Bryant (Methuen, Mass.) propelled the Colonels to a 2-1 lead with 7:41 remaining in the first quarter. 

With the visiting Gulls holding a 5-2 lead in the second quarter, Curry senior midfielder Robbie Tartaglia (Wrentham, Mass.) tallied an additional goal for the Colonels, lessening the Endicott lead to just two goals with 12:03 remaining in the half. 

The two sides would exchange goals back and forth throughout the half, Endicott holding an 8-5 lead over the Colonels heading into the intermission.

Curry's Connor Bryant opened the scoring in the second half, notching his second goal of the day two minutes into play to close in on the visiting Gulls' lead. 

With Endicott College leading 11-6 in the fourth quarter, Curry's Connor Bryant tallied his third goal of the matchup seven minutes into the final quarter of play, Curry now trailing 11-7. Just under three minutes later, Nick Perfetuo notched his third of the day, bringing the score to 11-8 in favor of the visiting Gulls.

Curry would not be able to catch the lead held by Endicott, falling to the Gulls by a final score of 13-8.

The Colonels return to the field on Saturday as they travel to face non-conference opponent Clark University at 12 PM.
