Colonels Defeat Knights in Non-Conference Action

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College Men's Lacrosse dominated Mount Saint Mary College Saturday evening, notching a 15-4 win over the Knights on Katz Field.

With the win, Curry moves forward with an overall record of 4-4 and 1-0 in the CCC.

The visiting Knights tallied the first goals on the board in the non-conference bout. Maxwell Green Wright marked two unassisted goals within the first seven minutes to grant his side an early lead.

Curry junior attacker Stephen Stackhouse (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) put the Colonels on the board ten minutes into the first quarter assisted by senior Nick Perfetuo (Norwell, Mass.). With just 14 seconds remaining in the first quarter, junior midfielder Pat Modoono found the back of the net to send the contest into the first intermission with the visiting Knights holding a 3-2 lead over the Colonels.

Curry began to dominate the non-conference matchup in the second quarter, Nick Perfetuo notching his second goal of the day 42 seconds into the period, tying the game at 3-3. Two minutes later the Colonels took the lead on an unassisted goal from Dom Cerone (Hanover, Mass.).

Additional goals from Brody Dalzell (Wrentham, Mass.), Stephen Stackhouse, and Robbie Tartaglia (Wrentham, Mass.) pushed the Colonels to a 7-3 lead as the two sides headed into the halftime break.

The Colonels marked eight more goals through the second half to the Knights' one. Brody Dalzell and Mac Kline (Essex, Conn.) each tallied two goals in the second half to lead the charge. With the dominant second half, Curry would take down non-conference opponent Mount Saint Mary 15-4 on Katz Field.

Curry freshman netminder Austin Brown (Scarborough, Maine) notched five saves in the conference win at home.

The Colonels get back out on the field Wednesday as they travel to face UNE in conference action set for 7 PM.
