MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College men's lacrosse team earned it first Commonwealth Coast Conference victory of the season on Saturday afternoon, defeating Gordon College 14-6 in league action at Walter M. Katz Field.

With the victory, Curry improves to 4-10 overall and 1-5 in CCC play.

The Colonels scored three times in the first quarter to jump out to a 3-1 advantage after one. Josh Hunter (East Bridgewater, Mass.), Nick Perfetuo (Norwell, Mass.), and Sam Nielsen (Fairfield, Conn.) scored in the opening quarter for the hosts.

Gordon scored three straight goals to cut the deficit down to 6-4, but goals from Stephen Stackhouse (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) and Perfetuo late in the period put Curry ahead 8-5 headed to halftime.

Sophomore faceoff specialist Sawyer Allen (Sutton, Mass.) won two faceoffs and scored two goals in the first 12 seconds of the third quarter to set the tone for half number two. A Dalzell man-up tally midway through the quarter gave Curry an 11-6 lead headed to the fourth.

Curry kept the Fighting Scots off the board in the fourth quarter, while Dalzell, Bryant, and Perfetuo added insurance markers to seal the 14-6 victory.

Allen was the story of the day with a dominating performance at the faceoff X. He lost just one draw, going 23-for-24 with a single-game program record 20 ground balls in the victory.
