Men's Lacrosse Bests Buccaneers

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. - The Curry College Men's Lacrosse Team defeated non-conference opponent Mass. Maritime on the road Saturday morning by a final score of 9-5.

With the win, Curry improves to 2-1 overall this season. With the loss, the Buccaneers fall to 0-2 on their season.

The hosting Buccaneers tallied the first goal of the morning with an unassisted goal from Kevin Lynch seven minutes into regulation. Curry's Cormac Kline (Ivoryton, Conn.) would answer back with a goal hastily, assisted by Jack Dacey (Guilford, Conn.), sending both sides into the first intermission tied 1-1.

The Colonels surged forward in the second quarter, finding the back of the net on four occasions. Jack Dacey (2), Brody Dalzell (Wrentham, Mass.), and Nick Perfetuo (Norwell, Mass.) all furthered the Colonels' lead.

Curry held a three-goal lead entering the second half. Three more goals from Curry sophomore Jack Dacey granted the Colonels a 9-4 lead at the conclusion of the third quarter.

A sole goal from the hosting Buccaneers in the fourth quarter was not enough to catch the lead presented by the Colonels. Curry would take the contest with a final score of 9-5.

The Colonels were led by Jack Dacey who marked five goals and two assists in the win on the road Saturday morning.
Curry's goalkeeping core allowed only five goals on the road; Evan Falandys (Leominster, Mass.) (30:00, 6 saves), Bobby Cannan (Bernardsville, N.J.) (30:00, 7 saves).

The Colonels get back out on the field Wednesday as they travel to take on Wheaton (Mass.) at 5 PM.
