Men's Lacrosse Knocked Off by MIT

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College men's lacrosse team dropped its season opener by a final score of 18-4 Sunday afternoon in non-conference action at Walter M. Katz Field.

With the defeat, Curry opens its season with a record of 0-1.

MIT came out of the gates firing on all cylinders, outscoring Curry 8-1 in the opening quarter. After Andy Shin scored just 27 seconds in, Curry had a quick answer with the first goal of the season from sophomore Connor Bryant (Methuen, Mass.) just 31 seconds later, but the Engineers would score the period's next seven goal.

Freshman Tim Sullivan (East Walpole, Mass.) scored his first collegiate goal early in the second quarter, but that would be Curry's only offense in the quarter, and MIT took a 13-2 lead into the halftime break.

Sullivan netted his second goal of the game midway through the third, and freshman Josh Hunter (East Bridgewater, Mass.) netted his first collegiate goal late in the fourth to round out Curry's offense on the afternoon. Brody Dalzell (Wrentham, Mass.) and Jack Dacey (Guilford, Conn.) each dished out second half assists for their first points of the season.

Sophomore Evan Falandys (Leominster, Mass.) and senior Bobby Cannan (Bernardsville, N.J.) split the net for Curry, making 10 and eight saves respectively, each in 30 minutes of playing time.

The Colonels will look to get into the win column on Wednesday when they host Plymouth State University for a non-conference affair. Faceoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
