SCRANTON, Pa. – Keystone College's men's lacrosse team jumped out to a 2-0 lead over the opening 11:13 of Saturday evening's non-conference game against Curry College, but the Colonels netted three goals in the final 1:16 of the first quarter and went on to defeat the Giants, 13-2.  Curry improves to 2-0 with the victory while Keystone, who got a game-high 16 saves in a solid goaltending effort from Matthew Grobelney, remains winless in two contests on the young season.

Patrick Hash gave the Giants their first-ever lead in program history with an unassisted goal 2:34 into Saturday's contest with unassisted goal before Anthony Cutillo doubled the host's advantage with a man-up goal with 3:47 remaining in the first quarter.  Curry answered with three goals in the final 1:16 of the period, with John McMenomey's second goal of the contest coming with just one second remaining in the frame to give the Colonels a 3-2 edge after the first 15 minutes of play.

Curry pushed their lead to 6-2 at halftime by scoring three goals in the second quarter including a pair in the final 35 seconds of the half.  The visitors added four tallies in the third quarter and three in the fourth period while holding the Giants scoreless over the final 48:47 of the contest to close out the score line.

Joseph Shea scored three goals and assisted on another while Ronald Jensen added a goal and three assists to pace Curry's offense.  McMenomey also finished with a pair of goals for the Colonels, who held a 47-22 advantage in shots for the game while winning the groundball battle, 49-26.

Matt DeLaney caused a game-high five turnovers while Chris Bronander collected five groundballs for Curry.  Starting goalie Shane O'Brien was credited with the win after making five saves in the first half for the Colonels before being relieved by Daniel Martin, who made three stops in the final 30 minutes of play.

Keystone's Matt Ebanez led all players with six groundballs on the evening while Colby Chapman scooped up five groundballs to go along with a team-best two caused turnovers.  Hash led the Giants with 11 shots on the game while Cullen Smith attempts six shots in the contest.

Curry, who won 12 of the game's 18 faceoffs, went 4-5 on extra-man opportunities for the game while Keystone went 1-4 with the extra man. (Game Recap Courtesy of Keystone Sports Information)
