MLAX Falls 10-6 to M.I.T.

MILTON, Mass.- M.I.T scored six unanswered goals in the the second half to beat Curry 10-6.  With the win, the Engineers begin their season at 1-0. The Colonels absorbed their first loss of the season and fall to 2-1 overall. 

Curry took an early 3-0 lead in the first period before M.I.T got on the board.  The Colonels got goals from senior Paul Marchese, junior Michael D'Amato and sophomore Sean Gallagher. Freshman Gabe Blanchet got his first collegiate goal for the Engineers. 

M.I.T scored three goals to Curry's two in the second period and cut the Colonels lead to just one.  Seniors Corey Garvey and Tom Hay and sophomore Carl Tilbury each scored for M.I.T. Marchese scored his second of the night and sophomore Evan Hammersley scored his lone goal of the day.

Curry out-shot M.I.T in the second half, but the Engineers outscored the Colonels 6-1. D'Amato scored his second at the start of the third period but that would be the last of the game for Curry. Garvey led the Engineers with three goals, scoring two of his three in the second half.  Tilbury scored one more and junior teammates John Kucharczyk, Dan Piemont, and Nick Sisler each got one.

M.I.T freshman Christopher Rullan (Woodbury, MI) earned the win in net, making 12 saves.  Sophomore Michael Hibbard made 11 saves for Curry in taking the loss. 

Curry hosts Salem State on Saturday March 13 at 12:00 p.m.  M.I.T. hosts Salve Regina University on Saturday March 13 in a 1:00 p.m. contest.
