#13 Men's Ice Hockey Taken Down by #7 Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass. - The #13 Curry College men's ice hockey team fell to #7 Endicott College 6-2 in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at Raymond J. Bourque Arena Saturday evening.

With the defeat, Curry suffers its first loss of the season, falling to 1-1-1 overall on the season and 1-1-0 in the CCC.

The Gulls scored three times in the first period to take a commanding 3-0 lead into the locker room, despite Curry holding a 14-12 edge in shots.

Endicott scored the first two goals of the second before the Colonels finally broke through on the second goal of the season by senior Tao Ishizuka (Providence, R.I.) 6:42 into the frame. Eelis Laaksonen (Espoo, Finland) and Gage Dill (Estero, Fla.) assisted on the marker. The Gulls scored one more time in the frame to take a 6-1 lead into the third.

Curry scored the only goal of the third, a power play goal from Taurin Haddon-Harris (Boca Raton, Fla.) with just over two minutes to play. George Vonakis (Abingdon, Md.) and Jesse Galassi (Lockport, N.Y.) assisted on the play.

Senior netminder Roland Polasek (Bor, Czech Republic) took the loss between the pipes for Curry, conceding five goals on 15 shots. In relief, freshman Shane Soderwall (Algonquin, Ill.) looked sharp in his college debut, stopping 17 of the 18 shots he faced in 34 minutes of action.

Next up for the Colonels, they will begin a weekend series on the road at Suffolk on Friday night. Puck drop is slated for 5 p.m.
