Four From Hockey Garner All-CCC Accolades, Team Picks Up Sportsmanship Award

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has announced its 2019-20 Men's Ice Hockey All-Conference teams and four Curry College student-athletes were recognized. Sophomores Mic Curran (Arlington, Mass.) and Nick Magill-Diaz (Troy, Mich.) were named to the First Team. Sophomore Alex Ochterbeck (Dallas, Texas) landed on the Second Team while senior Justin Ketola (Cloquet, Minn.) was selected to the Third Team. Additionally, the program was honored with the Team Sportsmanship award.

Curran played in all 25 regular season games while registering 46 points on 11 goals and 35 assists. He led the conference in points (46), assists (35), and was tied for first in the league in plus-minus with a plus-28. Nationally, Curran places tied for third in the country in points and points per game (1.84) and second in assists per game (1.40).

Magill-Diaz joins Curran on the First Team after the sophomore appeared in all 25 games during regular season play. He tallied 19 points on 10 goals and nine assists. Six of his markers came on the power play and one was a game-winner.

Ochterbeck, a Second Team selection, saw action in all 25 regular season contests. He recorded 35 points on 15 goals and 20 assists. Three of his goals came via power plays and one has was a game-winner. Ochterbeck places top five in the conference in the following categories: points, goals, assists, and plus-minus. He was also a two-time CCC Player of the Week honoree.

Ketola, a repeat Third Team All-Conference member, has played in 18 games between the pipes for the Colonels this season. He had a record of 11-5-2 with a .933 save percentage, 2.15 goals against average, and 544 saves. He ranks in the top five of the conference in goals against average, save percentage, saves, and win percentage. Nationally, he ranks 11th in save percentage.

Curry (17-5-3 overall, 12-4-3 CCC) hosts the Wentworth Institute of Technology on Wednesday, February 26 at the Canton Ice House at 6:50 p.m. in a CCC Tournament Quarterfinal matchup.
