Barlock Named as D-II/D-III USCHO First Team All-American

MILTON, Mass. – Curry College senior defenseman Ryan Barlock (Chicago, Ill.) has been named as a D-II/D-III U.S. College Hockey On-Line (USCHO) First Team All-American.

A total of 21 different schools are represented on the five men's Division II/Division III All-American teams (three East, two West).

Milwaukee School of Engineering led the way with three players on the All-USCHO teams, followed by national champion St. Norbert with two, national runner-up Oswego with two, and Johnson and Wales with two.

USCHO Player of the Year Jonathan La Rose headed up the first team selections. Rounding out the first team were national scoring leader Jeremiah Ketts of Johnson and Wales, NCHA Player of the Year Johan Ryd of St. Norbert, Barlock of Curry, and Chris Stansik of Adrian.

“An All-American award recognizes excellence of performance on the ice as voted by all the coaches in that region,” said Curry Head Coach Rob Davies. “Ryan has demonstrated that excellence in performance on the ice all season and it is rewarding to see how the other coaches in the region have acknowledged it. It couldn’t happen to a more deserving student-athlete.”

Barlock was a First Team All-ECAC Northeast selection, and a semi-finalist for the 12th Annual Joe Concannon Award. The Concannon Award recognizes the best American-born player at the D-II/III level playing in New England.

For the 2011-2012 season, Barlock played in all 27 games and led the Colonels in scoring with 11 goals and 29 assists. On February 9, in an 11-2 Curry win over Salve Regina, Barlock joined the Colonels' 100-Point Club. He finished his career with 108 points (33 goals, 75 assists) in 109 games played.
