Hockey Advances to the ECAC Northeast Championship Game With a 3-2 Victory Over Becker College

MILTON, Mass.- Curry College defeated Becker College, in men's ice hockey action on Wednesday night in Milton, Mass.  The Hawks fall to 13-12-1 overall, while the Colonels improve to 18-8-1 overall.

The Colonels scored early in the first period on a goal by sophomore Payden Benning.  Just under one minute later, teammate senior Ross Enmark scored his first goal of the night to take a 2-0 lead.  The score would remain 2-0 heading into the second period. 

Becker would get on the board first in the second period to get within one of the Colonels on a goal from freshman Branden Parkhouse.  Curry would answer back just two minutes later as Enmark would score his second and the eventual game-winner.  The Hawks wouldn't go away easy as senior Mike Caprio would score the last goal of the period.  

Both teams battled in the third each having their chances to score.  Both goaltenders made great saves for their team and the period would remain scoreless. 

Curry held off for the 3-2 win and a trip to the ECAC Northeast Championship game. 

Senior Steven Jakiel earned the win in net for the Colonels making 26 saves.  Sophomore Jake Rosenthal made 29 saves for Becker in the loss. 
 
Curry's next game is at home on March 6 at 4:35 p.m. in the ECAC Northeast Championship game.  The Colonels will play the #6 seed Johnson & Wales University, who defeated #1 seed Wentworth in the other ECAC Northeast Semi-Final game.
