Men's Basketball Takes Down RWU

Bristol, RI - The Curry Men's Basketball team defeated the Roger Williams Hawks on Saturday by a final score of 92-78. The win puts both teams at 9-10 on the season, while the Colonels are now 3-8 in CCC play while RWU is 7-4.

Despite the Hawks hitting two three pointers to start the game, the Colonels controlled a majority of the first half. A crucial 13-0 run over a four minute span was the turning point, and gave the Colonels a 16 point lead. They would close out the half with a 14 point lead, up 46-32. Curry would go up by as many as 19 early in the second half, and led by double digits for a majority of the second half. But the Hawks would slowly chip away, and had it down to a six point lead with four minutes. But a 10-0 run by Curry would lock the game up, as the Colonels won 92-78.

The Colonels were led by Jason Romans, as he scored 25 points. He also led the team with 11 rebounds, securing the double-double, his fifth of the season. Three other Colonels scored in double-digits, with Nick Johnson scoring 18, and Jonathan Joel and Mustafo Vanjov each scoring 10. Vanjov also grabbed seven rebounds. Tommy Mallinson led the defensive side of things with three steals.
