Men’s Basketball Falls to Nichols

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College lost to Nichols College 87-67 Saturday afternoon in a Commonwealth Coast Conference women's basketball game at Dr. Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Gymnasium.

With the loss, the Colonels fall to an overall record of 8-9 and 2-7 in conference play.

Lowelle Torres (Vineland, N.J.) scored a career-high 31 points to lead all scorers with nearly half of Curry's 67 total points. The senior forward scored 17 points in the first half alone, finishing the game with a pair of three-pointers, five rebounds, and four assists.

Other contributing players included senior Nick Johnson (Athens, Ga.), who finished with 14 points and four rebounds, and Mustafo Vanjov (Khorog, Tajikistan), who added seven points, five rebounds, and two blocks coming off the bench.

Curry College returns to action on Tuesday, January 23rd, to face off against Wentworth in a road game beginning at 5 p.m.
