Men’s Basketball Falls to Falcons in Overtime

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College was defeated in overtime 110-105 by Fisher College Thursday night in non-conference men's basketball action at Dr. Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Gymnasium.

With the loss, the Colonels fall to an overall record of 5-4 while remaining 0-3 in conference play.

Senior Nick Johnson (Athens, Ga.) and sophomore Tommy Mallinson (Wilmington, Mass.) did the bulk of the scoring in the first half, going a combined 9-for-15 from the field to finish with 12 and nine points, respectively.

The Colonels outscored the visitors by nine in the second, led by the trio of Johnson, Jason Romans (Peabody, Mass.), and Lowelle Torres (Vineland, N.J.), who each had double-digit scoring performances in the half, combining for 40 points to tie the game at 93 and send it into overtime.

Romans led the Colonels with 26 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists. Johnson was another major contributor with 25 points while knocking down four threes. Torres finished with 19 points and nine rebounds, while Mallinson added 15.

Curry College returns to action on Saturday, December 30th, to host New England College at 1 p.m. before a three-week hiatus over the holidays.
