Men's Basketball Stopped Short by Nichols

DUDLEY, Mass. - The Curry College men's basketball team fell to Nichols College 86-68 on the road on Tuesday evening in Commonwealth Coast Conference action.

With the defeat, the Colonels drop to 4-14 overall on the season and 2-9 in the CCC.

Curry senior Angelo Sardegna (Tampa, Fla.) led all scorers with 24 points in the defeat, matching a season-high. Seventeen of his 24 points game after the halftime break.

The only other Colonel in double figures was junior Lowelle Torres (Vineland, N.J.), who finished the evening with 15 points.

A pair of freshman starters had strong outings for Curry in the defeat. Shawn Charles (Miami, Fla.) notched nine points and nine rebounds to finish just shy of a double-double, while Jason Romans (Peabody, Mass.) notched four points, nine rebounds, and eight assists.

Next up for the Colonels, they will host Salve Regina University on Saturday afternoon at the Dr. Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Gymnasium. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
