MILTON, Mass. - Curry College Men's Basketball defeated non-conference opponent Bard College in Katz Gymnasium Friday evening by a final score of 89-78.

With the win, the Colonels improve to 2-8 overall this season.

The opening half at Katz Gymnasium saw a dominant effort by freshman forward Carl Monplaisir (Vero Beach, Fla.) who saw 7-8 shots from the field fall in his favor. Curry senior guard Angelo Sardegna (Tampa, Fla.) notched 10 points of his own in the first half to push the Colonels to a 40-31 lead heading into halftime. 

Sardegna continued to move the Colonels forward, adding 14 points to his total. The two Curry freshman forwards Carl Monplaisir and Shawn Charles (Miami, Fla.) combined for 17 in the second half, Charles also marking five rebounds and two blocks. A booming dunk from Monplaisir in the final moments sealed the victory for the Colonels in Katz Gymnasium by a final score of 89-78.

The Colonels were led by freshman forward Carl Monplaisir (24 points (10-12), 3 rebounds), Angelo Sardegna (24 points, 4 rebounds), and Shawn Charles (14 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks).

The Colonels return to the court Tuesday, January 3rd as they travel to face Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Salve Regina at 7:30 PM.
