Men’s Basketball Stopped by Bison 

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College Men's Basketball fell to Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Nichols College in Katz Gymnasium Tuesday evening by a final score of 100-63.

With the loss, the Colonels fall to 1-7 overall this season and 0-3 in the CCC.

The opening half at Katz Gymnasium saw two evenly matched conference sides. After trailing by ten (33-23) with under five minutes remaining, Curry elected to take a timeout. The Colonels chipped away at the Bison lead, heading into the halftime break with the score 41-34. Junior forward Lowelle Torres (Vineland, N.J.) and junior guard Frankie Santiago (New Britain, Conn.) combined for 17 points in the first half, leading their side. 

The second half of the conference bout at Katz Gymnasium saw a dominant Nichols College side, outscoring the Colonels 59-29. Curry's Santiago looked to close in on the visitor's lead, notching eight points while shooting 50% from the field. The Colonels would not be able to catch the Nichols College lead, falling to the Bison by a final score of 100-63.

The visiting Nichols College Bison were led by Matthew Alectus who marked 22 points and 19 rebounds in the win on the road. 

The Colonels were led by junior forward Lowelle Torres (14 points, 4 assists) and Frankie Santiago (16 points, 4 assists).

The Colonels return to the court Thursday as they host non-conference opponent UMass Boston at 6 PM.
