2012: Started in all 10 games at defensive tackle…Amassed 23 total tackles (12 solo)…Also had six tackles for loss (-12 yards), including one sack (-4 yards)…Collected a season high five tackles in two different contests (at Fitchburg State, at Salve Regina).

2011: Started in all 10 games at nose guard...Amassed 34 total tackles (21 solo)...Also had 5.5 tackles for loss (-14 yards), four sacks (-9 yards) and one forced fumble...Had season best six total tackles in two different contests (at Western New England and vs. Salve Regina)...Also recorded season high three sacks vs. Salve Regina. 

2010: Played in three games at defensive end, and in all 10 games on special teams.

High School: O’Brien is a 2009 graduate of Sandwich High School…Played football for four years for Coach Bill Luette, lacrosse for four years for Coach Mike McNeil and hockey for four years... Captained lacrosse team senior year... Senior year football honors included: Defensive Player of the Year, Defensive Lineman Award, Atlantic Coast All-Star and 110% Award...Senior year lacrosse honors included: Atlantic Coast All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year...In ice hockey, received  Sportsmanship Award.
