East Boston, MA - The Curry baseball team fell in both games of their doubleheader against Suffolk on Saturday, falling to 5-27 on the season, and 0-11 in CCC play. The Rams are now 21-13 and 8-5.

Game One

The Rams jumped out to a quick lead, scoring four runs in the first. They would build their lead up to 6-0 before the Colonels got on the board with two runs in the eighth. Both of those runs came on a Kyle Doolin double. But the Rams would immediately answer with three in the bottom half of the inning, giving them a 9-2 lead that they would win by.

Tommy Marshall was the lone Colonel to record two hits. Colman Dyer and Marshall Ingram each pitched four innings, with Dyer picking up the loss as the starter.

Game Two

After falling behind 5-0 after three innings, the Colonels scored their first run of the game in the seventh on a Reegan Thomas RBI single. After the Rams answered with three runs in the seventh, the Colonels made things interesting in the eighth. Erik Leonard homered to lead the inning off, his fourth of the season. A peter Moor pinch hit single then made it 8-3. Nick Columbano followed with an RBI single of his own. After another run scored on a ground out, making it 8-5, Curry had the tying run at the plate. But Kyle Doolin would ground out, ending the threat. Curry then went down in order in the ninth, giving Suffolk the win.

The Colonels recorded 10 hits, with Drew Fagala and Cam Berry each recording two. Dale Beneway picked up the loss after going 2.2 innings in his start.

Up Next - After playing eight games in seven days, the Colonels will have an off day on Sunday before hosting Mass. Maritime on Monday at 3pm.
