Milton, MA - The Curry Baseball team fell to the Eastern Nazarene Lions on Monday by a final score of 14-13. With the loss the Colonels are now 3-8 on the season, while the Lions improve to 3-8.

It was a high scoring game early, as the Lions scored four in the first on a grand slam, then three in the second, and six in the third to give them 13 runs. Not to be completely outdone, the Colonels scored three in the first, one in the second, and six in the third to only trail by three. The Curry runs in the first came from a walk with the bases loaded, a double play, and a passed ball. The lone second inning run came on an Erik Leonard RBI double. Then in the third, an RBI single by Cameron Barry opened things up, followed by a Tino Gagliardi sacrifice fly. After an error brought in another run, Aidan Finnegan hit an RBI single. Another error and sacrifice fly were the cause of the final two runs of the inning. The Colonels would then tie things up at 13 with a pair of runs in the fourth on a Leonard double, and a George Calderon sacrifice fly, and then a Barry RBI single in the fifth. Both offenses would then go quiet until the eighth when the Lions scored the winning run on an RBI single.

Along with combining for 27 runs, the two teams combined for 26 hits, with Curry getting 10 of them. Barry had four of them, while Reegan Thomas and Leonard each had two. The Colonels also were patient at the plate, drawing 12 walks. Brandon Prescod would be settled with the loss, which was unfortunate as he was the one who settled things down by going 4.1 innings in relief, allowing just four hits and the one earned run. He struck out five. The run he gave up scored after he left the game. Also pitching well was Luke Gomes, as he struck out five over two innings.

Up Next - The Colonels will host Lasell on Wednesday at 3pm.
