Baseball Stopped Short by Seahawks on Senior Day

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College baseball team fell to Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Salve Regina University at home Wednesday afternoon.

With the loss, Curry moves to 10-25 overall and 4-10 in the CCC.

Prior to first pitch on Vallely Diamond, Curry College baseball honored its five seniors in a special pre-game celebration. Conor Hanlon (Beverly, Mass.), Cameron Herndon (Floresville, Texas), James Jackson (Seekonk, Mass.), Donovan Potemri (Avon, Mass.), and Brandon Prescod (Brooklyn, N.Y.) were each honored at the start of today's game.

The opening two innings saw the visiting Seahawks notch eight unanswered runs to take a substantial lead over the Colonels.

Curry tallied its sole run in the bottom of the second on a Conor Hanlon single up the middle to drive George Calderon (New York, N.Y.) in to score.

The Colonels would not mark any additional runs on four hits through the remaining five innings while Salve Regina pushed its lead to 15-1, closing out the CCC contest in seven innings in favor of the visiting Seahawks.

Curry will return on Saturday afternoon, as they travel to face Suffolk University on the road at 12 & 3 PM.
