LEXINGTON, Mass. - The Curry College baseball team took down Lesley University by a final score of 7-5 Wednesday evening in non-conference action at Minuteman High School.

With the victory, the Colonels improve to 9-18 overall on the season.

The Colonels fell behind 4-0 in the bottom of the third, but soon began its rally. In the top of the fourth, sophomore Kyle Doolin (Stoughton, Mass.) earned an RBI on a reach-on-error with the bases loaded, before senior James Jackson (Seekonk, Mass.) was hit by a pitch to cut the deficit to 4-2.

Lesley got one back in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI single, but from there it was all Colonels. A Jackson sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth put the Colonels back to within two, before Curry took the lead with a three-spot in the top of the seventh. Tommy Marshall (Dedham, Mass.) started the frame with an RBI single, followed by the big blow, a Conor Hanlon (Beverly, Mass.) two-run double put the Colonels ahead for good.

In the top of the ninth, Curry got some insurance on Jackson's second sacrifice fly of the game, giving the game its final score of 7-5.

Marshall slammed the door shut in the bottom of the ninth, recording a 1-2-3 inning with a pair of strikeouts to earn his second save of the season.

Offensively, the Colonels were paced by Marshall and junior George Calderon (New York, N.Y.), who each recorded three hits.

Next up for the Colonels, they will return to Commonwealth Coast Conference action on Saturday afternoon with a road doubleheader at Western New England. First pitch in game one is slated for 12 p.m.
