DUDLEY, Mass. - The Curry College Baseball team was swept by Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Nichols College on the road Saturday afternoon.

With the losses, Curry moves to 8-18 overall on the season and 3-7 in the CCC.

Game 1: Curry 4, Nichols 12

Nichols College notched the first run of the afternoon in the bottom of the first, taking an early lead over the visiting Colonels. 

Curry responded in the top of the third inning, George Calderon (New York, N.Y.) scoring on a Ryan Goonan (Raynham, Mass.) groundout to tie the CCC matchup at 1-1. 

The Colonels grabbed a two-run lead in the top of the third, George Calderon tallying a two-RBI single to right-center sending both Brett Heggs (Taunton, Mass.) and Chris Faraca (Peabody, Mass.) in to score.

A sacrifice fly from Ryan Goonan drove Erik Leonard (Dedham, Mass.) into home, pushing Curry's lead to 4-1 in the top of the sixth. 

Nichols College took over in the bottom of the eight, scoring eight runs to hold a 12-4 lead over the visiting Colonels. 

With just one hit and no runs from Curry in the top of the ninth, Nichols would take the victory in the opening matchup of the CCC doubleheader.

Game 2: Curry 2, Nichols

Curry notched the first run in the second matchup of the day on an error by Nichols' second baseman, allowing Ryan Goonan to safely reach home, pushing the Colonels to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning.

Four unanswered runs from the hosts pushed the score to 4-1 in favor of Nichols College through the bottom of the fourth. 

Curry's Ryan Goonan tallied the second Colonels run of the matchup on a Tommy Marshall (Hanson, Mass.) groundout, closing in on the hosting Bison's two-run lead.

Eight unanswered runs by the Bison concluded the CCC matchup in the eighth inning, Curry College falling to Nichols College 12-2.

Curry will be back in action Wednesday evening as they travel to face Lesley University for a non-conference matchup set for 7 PM.
