Colonels Defeated by Lions in Non-Conference Action

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College Baseball team fell to non-conference opponent Eastern Nazarene by a final score of 29-2 at home Thursday afternoon.

With the loss, Curry moves to 8-15 overall on the season and 3-5 in the CCC.

The visiting Lions notched a 16-run lead over the Colonels through the first three innings.

Curry's first run on the day came in the bottom of the third, senior James Jackson (Seekonk, Mass.) singling to second, pushing George Calderon (New York, N.Y.) in to score for the Colonels. 

A Tommy Marshall (Hanson, Mass.) sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third batted in Curry's second run on the day.

Nine runs in the top of the fourth from Eastern Nazarene grabbed the visiting Lions a 25-2 lead. 

The non-conference matchup was called in the bottom of the fifth, with Eastern Nazarene taking home the 29-2 victory.

Curry will be back in action on Saturday afternoon as they travel to face Nichols College for a Commonwealth Coast Conference matchup set for 11:30 AM & 2:30 PM.
