Colonels Swept by Gulls

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College baseball team was swept by Endicott College in a Commonwealth Coast Conference doubleheader on Jack Vallely Diamond Saturday afternoon.

With the losses, Curry moves to 8-14 overall and 3-4 in the CCC.

 

Game 1 - Curry 1, Endicott 6

The Colonels struck first in the opening matchup of the afternoon conference doubleheader in Milton, Mass., with freshman Chris Faraca (Peabody, Mass.) singling to center field, batting in Tommy Marshall (Hanson, Mass.) to grant the Colonels a one-run lead over the Gulls.

Endicott would tie the contest at one run a piece in the top of the fourth, Jake Nardone notching a sacrifice fly to left field, bringing Nicolas Notarangelo in to score.

The visiting Gulls would mark five additional runs through the ninth inning including two solo home runs, claiming the CCC victory over Curry College.

The Colonels were paced by Chris Faraca who notched one RBI on two hits in the loss on Vallely Diamond.

 

Game 2 - Curry 1, Endicott 14

The visiting Gulls notched two runs in the top of the second inning to take a quick 2-0 lead over the Colonels in the second matchup of the afternoon. 

Curry's sole run came by way of a Ryan Goonan (Raynham, Mass.) flyout to center field, allowing Drew Fagala (San Antonio, Texas) to score, closing in on the Gulls' two-run lead.

The top of the third inning saw back-to-back home runs for the Gulls, pushing the Endicott lead to 5-1. 

Nine additional unanswered runs from the visiting Gulls through the sixth inning closed out the Commonwealth Coast Conference matchup in favor of Endicott College, 14-1.

Curry's Ryan Goonan paced his side with two hits and one RBI in the second matchup of the afternoon doubleheader.

Curry College will be back in action on Tuesday afternoon, traveling to face conference opponent Salve Regina at 3 PM.
