PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Curry College baseball team fell to Rhode Island College by a score of 15-6 Thursday afternoon in non-conference action at Pontarelli Field.

With the defeat, Curry falls to 8-13 overall on the season.

Curry battled back from a 6-0 deficit in the top of the third inning, cutting the deficit down to 6-5 after two and a half innings. Andres Ramos (Sonora, Mexico) recorded an RBI single to lead off the rally, followed by two-run doubles from Brandon Polanco (Brooklyn, Mass.) and Garrett Fosher (Exeter, N.H.).

In the top of the fifth, Curry tied the score on an RBI double from Joan Peralta (Brooklyn, N.Y.), but Rhode Island College responded with five runs in the bottom of the frame to take an 11-6 lead.

The Anchormen scored twice in both the bottom of the sixth and eighth innings to secure the 15-6 victory.

Curry's loss went to senior pitcher Nick Kavrakis (Southwick, Mass.), who allowed two earned runs on one hit with two strikeouts in 2.1 innings of relief in the defeat. 

Next up for Curry, they will return to Commonwealth Coast Conference action with a key roadtrip to Wentworth on Saturday. First pitch in game one of the doubleheader is slated for 11 a.m.
