Baseball Shut Out by Framingham State

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College baseball team suffered an 8-0 defeat to Framingham State University Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action at Jack Vallely Diamond.

With the defeat, Curry falls to 7-8 overall on the season.

Framingham State got all the offense it would end up needing in the top of the first inning on a two-run home run from Kennedy Wilson to take a 2-0 lead. The Rams would tack on four more in the top of the third to take control of the game, and scored single runs in the sixth and eighth to give the game its final score.

Curry recorded nine hits in the losing effort, but stranded all 13 of its baserunners. Freshman Brett Heggs (Taunton, Mass.) led Curry with three hits, while Jared Keller (Oxford, Conn.) went 2-for-3 with two doubles and a walk.

Senior Jack Needham (Raynham, Mass.) took the loss on the hill for Curry, allowing six earned over 2.2 innings.

Curry will be back on the field on Wednesday, hosting Anna Maria College at Vallely Diamond. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
