Colonels Downed by Bears

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College Baseball team fell to non-conference opponent Bridgewater State University 6-1 Wednesday afternoon.

With the loss, Curry dips to 6-4 this season.

The visiting Bears held a lead for the entirety of the afternoon matchup. A five-run sixth inning gave the Bears the lead necessary to hold off the Colonels for the remainder of the contest.

Curry tallied their one run in the bottom of the sixth, Jason Leonard (Dedham, Mass.) singling to center field, batting in Ryan Goonan (Raynham, Mass.) for the sole Curry run of the day.

The Colonels went down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the eighth and ninth as Bridgewater State sealed the victory.

Graduate pitcher Phil Ledwith (Old Saybrook, Conn.) was credited with the loss at home, recording five innings pitched, four hits, and one run.

The Colonels get back out on the field Saturday as they host Suffolk University, opening up conference play this season. Games are set for 11:30 AM & 1:30 PM.
