MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College baseball team was shut out by Suffolk University, 3-0, in a rain-shortened non-conference game on Wednesday afternoon at the Jack Vallely Diamond.

Graduate student Tim Brigham (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) got the Rams on the board in the first inning on a double to center field. The two-bagger scored senior Rich Gilbride (Beverly, Mass.).

Suffolk added their final two runs in the fifth. Gilbride singled through the left side to plate senior Joe Rufo (Cedar Grove, N.J.). Brigham followed with a base knock through the right side to bring around Gilbride.

The game was called after the bottom of the fifth due to inclement weather.

Sophomore Shawn Nosky (Dedham, Mass.) picked up the win on the mound for the Rams. He tossed all five innings, only surrendering three hits. He also walked two and fanned four. Junior Jack Needham (Raynham, Mass.) was given the loss for the Colonels. He gave up one run on two hits to go along with one strikeout.

Curry (3-15 overall) will next play at Western New England on Friday, April 23 in a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m. Suffolk (8-8 overall) returns to action on Friday when they welcome in Gordon College for a doubleheader beginning at 3:30 p.m.
