MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College baseball team opens the 2020 season on Thursday, March 5 against Pine Manor College at 3:00 p.m. The game will be played at the Roxbury Latin School. The Colonels are looking to improve upon a season where the finished 11-24-1 overall and 3-10-1 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC).
WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO
Curry brings back its core of sophomore captain Jason Leonard (Dedham, Mass.), senior Jared Keller (Oxford, Conn.), senior Jhonathan Oliveira (Peabody, Mass.), and junior captain Zachary Wensley (Raynham, Mass.), and junior Dylan Ketterer (Plymouth, Mass.). Leonard, Keller, and Ketterer were each selected as All-Conference last season.
The Colonels also welcome in 13 new faces to the program, headlined by pitcher Cameron Herndon (Floresville, Texas), designated hitter/first baseman John Trevino (Edinburg, Texas), pitcher/infielder Matthew Jones (Brooklyn, N.Y.), and pitcher Jacob Stiner (Middleboro, Mass.).
GAMES TO WATCH
Curry's home opener comes on March 15 at noon against Pine Manor.
The Colonels will then fly down to Florida to play eight games in the RussMatt Invitational in Auburndale, Florida.
During their trip, they will play Chatham, Pitt.-Greensburg, Anna Maria, Penn. State Brandywine, Nebraska Wesleyan, and Medaille.
Curry will begin conference play on Sunday, March 22 at Salve Regina University for a doubleheader, with the first pitch coming at noon.
