MILTON, Mass. - Curry College has claimed the top seed for The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) baseball championship, which begins with opening-round games on Tuesday, April 27.

The Colonels (25-11 overall) captured the top seed in the conference tournament after matching Western New England  (28-8) and Endicott (25-13) with identical 17-5 records in TCCC play.

TCCC tiebreaking procedures were used to sort out the three-way deadlock for first place.  In head-to-head play among the three tied teams, Curry claimed the top seed after posting a 3-1 record, compared to WNEC’s 2-2 record and Endicott’s 1-3 mark.  WNEC and Endicott were then treated as a new tie.

A four-way tie for sixth place among Eastern Nazarene, Anna Maria, Gordon and Colby-Sawyer was also used to determine the final three seeds.  In head-to-head play among the four tied teams, Eastern Nazarene and Anna Maria were both 4-2, while Gordon was 3-3 and Colby-Sawyer was 1-5.  ENC and AMC emerged and were treated as a new tie.

In step one, Eastern Nazarene and Anna Maria split their regular-season doubleheader.  In step two, Eastern Nazarene was awarded the sixth seed based on a 1-1 record against top-seeded Curry, as opposed to a 0-2 mark for Anna Maria, which was then seeded seventh.

Gordon and Colby-Sawyer returned to the top of the tiebreaking procedure and Gordon earned the eighth and final seed by virtue of their doubleheader sweep of Colby-Sawyer.

Four games are slated for Tuesday, April 27 at 3:00 p.m..  Top-seeded Curry will host eighth-seeded Gordon (16-18, 9-13), second-seeded Western New England will host seventh-seeded Anna Maria (19-17, 9-13), third-seeded Endicott will host sixth-seeded Eastern Nazarene (16-20, 9-13) and fourth-seeded Wentworth (24-12, 15-7) will host fifth-seeded Salve Regina (21-16, 12-10).
