BIDDEFORD, Maine - A pair of Curry College student-athletes earned weekly recognition from the Commonwealth Coast Conference on Tuesday afternoon.
Men's soccer freshman Aidan Auclair (Newton, Mass.) was named the CCC Rookie of the week, while football freshman Montie Quinn (Goose Creek, S.C.) earned Offensive Rookie of the Week for the fourth consecutive week, as well as his second CCC Offensive Player of the Week award.
Auclair chose a terrific time for his first collegiate goal for the Colonels, tying the score at one in the 79th minute of Curry's 1-1 draw with CCC foe Nichols on Saturday evening. He also added an assist on Wednesday in Curry's 4-2 win over Plymouth State.
Quinn again was the pulse of the Colonel offense on Saturday afternoon, rushing for 124 yards and three touchdowns. He also ignited the Walter M. Katz Field crowd with a 90-yard kickoff return touchdown in the first quarter.
Both players will look to stay hot as their teams continue CCC action in the week ahead. Auclair's men's soccer team travels to Roger Williams on Tuesday evening for a 7 p.m. kickoff, while Quinn's football team hosts Husson for Homecoming on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
