Men's Soccer Drops CCC Contest at Endicott, 3-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott College came away with a 3-0 victory over Curry College on Tuesday night in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's soccer match-up at Hempstead Stadium.

Evan Couchot (Mason, Ohio) netted the first two goals of the contest to lead the Gulls while Alex Vuksta (Hudson, Ohio) tallied the final marker of the game. Jack Bacon (Lincoln, R.I.) made four saves in goal as Endicott improved to 5-4-2 overall and 2-0-2 in league play.

The Gulls got on the scoreboard quickly, as Couchot found the back of the net 8:37 into the contest. An Endicott long cross from Vuksta set up Couchot with a shot to the left hand side of the goal and past Paul DeMaio (North Andover, Mass.) to give the Gulls a 1-0 lead. Couchot got on the board once again ay the 39:23 mark as he ran past a Curry defender and put it into the center of the goal to double the lead for the home squad.

Endicott tacked on its final goal of the game in the 52nd minute as Vuksta found the back of the net on a cross from Jesse Martinez. The pass was one-timed by Vuksta and put past DeMaio far post.

DeMaio, who faced 12 shots in the contest, finished with nine saves.

Curry (6-6-1 overall, 0-4-0 CCC) will next host Williams College on Saturday, October 6 at 1:30 p.m. Endicot returns to action at home against Roger Williams on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
