2018 Men's Soccer Season Outlook

MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College Men's Soccer team enters 2018 with a young and energetic squad with a number of new faces through freshmen and transfer students. The Colonels look forward to connecting the group as a whole as they enter the new season.

Players To Watch On Your Team

Junior Brandon Rinaldi (Watertown, Conn.) – Midfield / Forward played in 18 games recording three goals and three assists.

Junior Paul DeMaio (North Andover, Mass.) – 14 starts in net last fall and recorded a 1.28 goals against average.

Junior Mitchell Forbes (Boxford, Mass.) – Strong center back who started 18 games for the Colonels last fall.

Transfers:

Brandon Dickens (East Hartford, Conn.) – Sophomore midfielder recorded one goal and three assists last season.

Adam Beaty (Middletown, Conn.) – Defensive midfielder from Mount Ida. He recorded a goal and an assist in 16 starts last season.

Top Returning Players

Senior Kyle Henry (Danville, Calif.) – Fast and physical defender that played in 18 games last fall

Top Newcomers

Brandon Duhaime (Milford, Conn.) – Senior sparkplug in the midfield for Mount Ida last fall. Saw action in 18 games.

Expectations For Season

Young and energetic Colonels squad with only two seniors looks to break through to the top half of the CCC. The squad lot to prove and many new faces via transfer and incoming freshman. They are looking forward to uniting this group and getting them to believe in themselves and push for an exciting and rewarding season.

Who in League To Look Out For

Defending champions Endicott and second place finisher Gordon are the top dogs with teams like Western New England, Wentworth and others not far behind.

Talk About Coaching Staff

Alvaro Amaral starts his second year as an assistant. He has a great technical and tactical mind for the game with loads of club, college, and professional soccer experience. Will provide great insights and training tactics.

Sam Hunter returns as a volunteer coach. A former captain at Union, he will organize and train a very strong defensive unit.

Josh Arno will join the staff as goalkeeper coach after a career at Framingham State and currently coaches club for FC Stars.

Former Captain Rolando Montero will rejoin the staff for his second season and provide scouting, recruiting, and his experiences as a player in our program.

Curry opens the 2018 season on Friday, August 31 against Anna Maria at 3:00 p.m. in the Salem State Tournament.
