Manastersky Named Coach of The Year, Three Colonels Named All-CCC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has announced its 2018-19 Men's Ice Hockey All-Conference teams and three student-athletes were recognized along with Head Coach T.J. Manastersky as he was named the league's Coach of the Year. Senior captain Zach White (Milford, Conn.) was named to the Second Team while junior Billy Vizzo (Shelton, Conn.) and classmate Justin Ketola (Cloquet, Minn.) landed on the Third Team.

White played in all 25 regular season games and registered 38 points on 22 goals and 16 assists. The mark of 22 goals led the CCC while 38 points placed him fourth in the conference. White also paced the league with six power play goals. He also ranked fourth in the CCC in plus-minus. At the conclusion of the regular season, White ranked 12th in Division III in points, fourth in goals per game, and tied for ninth in power play goals. He was tabbed as the CCC Player of the Week on February 4.

Vizzo has been impressive since his Curry debut in January, recording 26 points on 12 goals and 14 assists in just 13 games. The junior finished the regular season ranked tied for 16th in the conference in points per game, 15th in goals per game, and 17th in assists per game. Vizzo was named as the CCC Player of the Week on January 28 and February 19.

Ketola closed the regular season with a 10-3-2 overall record. He registered 404 saves against 441 shots for .916 save percentage. Additionally, Ketola recorded a 2.44 goals against average and had one shut out. He ranked second in the CCC in goals-against average, first in save percentage, eighth in saves, and first in win percentage. Ketola has been a two-time CCC Goaltender of the Week selection.

Manastersky was voted as the CCC Coach of the Year by his peers after leading the Colonels to a 16-6-3 overall record and an 11-4-2 mark in conference play. Under the direction of Manastersky, Curry currently ranks second in the conference in scoring offense, fourth in scoring defense. Since November 30, the Colonels have posted a 14-2-1 record, including six straight wins.

Curry enters the CCC Championship Tournament as the number two seed and will await the second lowest seed remaining in the field. Curry will host its semifinal game on Saturday, February 23 at 6:50 p.m. at Max Ulin Rink.
