MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College men's ice hockey team captured a 6-2 come-from-behind victory over visiting Bryn Athyn College on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at Max Ulin Rink. The Colonels move to 8-5-2 overall while the Lions slip to 4-13-0 overall on the season.

Bryn Athyn jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first period behind goals from sophomore Tanner Condon (Anchorage, Alaska) and freshman Tanner Schroeder (Ottowa, Ontario). Congdon lit the lamp at the 14:07 into the frame while Schroeder registered his tally of the season with 52 seconds left in the period. The Schroeder goal was assisted by junior Vojtech Luza (Vyskov, Czech Republic) and sophomore Zach Pamaylaon (Aiea, Hawaii).

After falling behind, Curry answered back with five goals in the second period. Senior captain Zach White (Milford, Conn.) got the Colonels on the board 4:07 into the frame on a power play opportunity. The helpers on the marker were awarded to senior Mack Heisinger (Winnipeg, Manitoba) and junior Billy Vizzo (Shelton, Conn.). White tallied the equalizer just under three minutes later, as senior Lionel Mauron (Lausanne, Switzerland) set up the goal. The Colonels then rattled off three goals in a four-minute stretch, one coming from freshman Kalle Sundell (Helsinki, Finland) and the final two from Vizzo to give Curry the 5-2 lead after two.

The Colonels tacked on an insurance tally with 1:15 remaining in regulation as sophomore Viktor Jansson (Stockholm, Sweden) scored a shorthanded empty-net goal to extend the lead to four, 6-2, the eventual final.

Sophomore goalie Cody Murch (Raleigh, N.C.) stopped five shots in 20 minutes before giving way to junior Justin Ketola (Cloquet, Minn.) for the final two periods. Ketola registered 13 saves to preserve the four-goal victory. Sophomore McKenzie Chalmers (Calgary, Alberta) converted 33 saves for Bryn Athyn.

Curry capitalized on its lone power play, going 1-for-1. The Lions were unable to strike on the power play, finishing 0-for-7.

The two teams conclude their weekend series on Sunday, January 13 at 4:50 p.m. at Max Ulin Rink.
