Women's Cross Country Turns in Best Team Finish of the Season

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. – The Curry College women's cross country team continued the 2019 season at the Lt. Travis J. Fuller Invitational hosted by the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. The Colonels brought six runners and placed fourth as a team at the meet.

Leading the way for Curry was sophomore Susan Hogan (Weymouth, Mass.), who finished in 9th place with a time of 23:14. Right behind her in 10th place was freshman Haley Covillion (Bellow Falls, Vt.), finishing with a time of 23:21. Next for the Colonels was Karina Murcia (Culver City, Calif.), recording a 24:23 time for a 16th place finish. Kelsie Rainone (Plainville, Mass., 26:13) and Phoebe Katz (Providence, R.I., 26:38) finished in 22nd and 23rd place, respectively. Rounding out Curry's runners was Ariana Boostrom (Rockland, Mass.) who turned in a 30th place finish with a time of 28:57. The Colonels took 78 points as a team to finish in fourth, seven points behind the third place Rivier University (71).

The Colonels will enjoy an off-week before returning to action on Saturday, October 12 as they head to Westfield State for the James Earley Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
