SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Curry College Women's Cross Country Team finished seventh out of nine teams at the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship Meet (Western New England) on Saturday morning. The Colonels finished with a team score of 232 points. The University of New England came in first place with a perfect score of 15 points.
Curry was led by senior Lydia Hixon (West Hartford, Conn.) who placed 73rd with a time of 28:12. Hixon was followed by senior Lauren Eide (Stratham, N.H.), 28:51 (78th) and Emilee Purdy (Franklin, Mass.), 30:15 (90th), freshman Amy Burgess (Ocala, Fla.), 36:24 (99th), juniors Caitlyn De Serres (Barre, Vt.), 36:26 (100th) and Dawn Martinsen (Duxbury, Mass.), 40:24 (102nd), junior Christina Garcia (Bayville, N.Y.), 40:29 (103rd), and freshman Danielle Gagnon (Agawam, Mass.) , 43:21 (105th).
Curry heads to the ECAC Championships on Saturday, November 5th.
