Cross Country Places Fifth at the Pop Crowell Invitational at Gordon College

WENHAM, Mass.— The Curry College Women's Cross Country Team finished 5th out of 11 teams at the Pop Crowell Invitational held at Gordon College on Saturday morning.  The Colonels finished with a team score of 175 points. 

The University of New England took home the team trophy. UNE was as sharp as ever with all five point receivers coming inside the top 10. The Nor'easters talented upperclassmen trio of Brittney Sorbello, Tiana Thomas and Amanda MacDonald came 1-2-3 to pace the effort. UNE finished with 20 total points. 

Curry was led by junior Victoria Gately (Hanson, Mass.) who placed 24th with a time of 21:48.  Gately was followed by freshman Tatyana Almore (Belchertown, Mass.), who placed 30th with a time of 22:56.  Following Almore were seniors Lydia Hixson (West Hartford, Conn.), 23:11 (33rd), Emilee Purdy (Franklin, Mass.), 24:46 (43rd) and Lauren Eide (Stratham, N.H.), 24:58 (45th), freshman Amy Burgess (Ocala, Fla.), 27:53 (54th) and juniors Caitlyn De Serres (Barre, Vt.), 29:59 (61st), Dawn Martinsen (Duxbury, Mass.), 32:00 and Christina Garcia, 33:24.

Curry heads to the Mass. Maritime Invitational on Saturday, October 1 at 11:00 a.m.
